After working across Primary settings in Wales, Heather moved to Kuwait in 2009, to teach in the Lower Phase at The British School of Kuwait (BSK), and has subsequently held the roles of Assistant Department coordinator for the lower phase and Reception Head of Year. She was also a mentor of “Newly Qualified Teacher” and “Assessment Only” teachers. Heather was appointed to her current role of Principal of The Sunshine Kindergarten in 2015, where she is also the Designated Safeguard Lead (DSL) for the setting.
Heather is passionate about early years education and is committed to her own life-long learning and that of others. “I firmly believe a happy child will be a successful child and we are dedicated to ensure every child enjoys school and achieves success. We do this by providing the best teaching and learning experiences that we can through an exciting and engaging curriculum”.
Heather is married to Daniel and they have three children; Morgan and Freya whom attend BSK and Phoebe who is in the KG year group at TSK. When she is not in work, her interests include; family, travelling, reading, kick boxing and Zumba. Heather is patriotic, she speaks Welsh and enjoys watching rugby, her favourite teams being The Scarlets and Wales. She is very proud of her life in Kuwait and is grateful to Kuwait for all the wonderful experiences her and her family have had to date. She looks forward to another successful year ahead.
